MANHATTAN, Kan. ?  The 30th ranked Colorado Buffaloes defeated the Kansas State Wildcats, 5-2, Saturday, April 14, at the Ahearn Fieldhouse in Manhattan, Kansas.

Colorado improved to 13-6 overall with the win and 6-2 in the Big 12, earning its third consecutive win. CU broke the Wildcats' season-high three match winning streak as KSU dropped to 5-12 overall and 3-5 in the league. Colorado leads the all-time series against Kansas State 19-10.

The Buffaloes started the match strong, winning the doubles point with victories in the No. 2 and No. 3 slots.  Monica Milewski and Franziska Jendrian defeated Tamar Kvaratskhelia and Natasha Vieira, 8-2, in the No. 2 slot, while Melisa Esposito and Martina Sedivec edged Katka Kudlackova and Tereza Prochazkova, 9-7, in the No. 3 position, improving their impressive 10-2 record this spring.

The Buffaloes moved on to secure four of six singles points, clinching the victory with Gleisy Torres Torres' win in the No. 5 singles position.  Torres Torres defeated Natasha Vieira, 6-3, 5-7, 1-0(10-7), winning her fourth straight match and polishing her 14-5 spring record.

The Buffaloes were up 3-0 after another singles point was earned by Camila Belassi at the No. 2 singles position, when her opponent Fernanda Da Valle retired her match with a twisted knee after one game.

The Buffaloes gained another point from the No. 6 singles position, although the set was not played due to Tereza Prochazkova's knee injury.
