Buffs Compete At All-Comers Meet

Dodson Records NCAA Provisional Mark

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. ? University of Colorado senior Jeremy Dodson led the track and field team with a pair of runner-up finishes at the New Mexico Classic on Saturday.

 

Dodson earned an NCAA provisional mark of 21.07 seconds in the 200-meter dash. The time is the second fastest run in the Big 12 Conference this indoor season and is the second fastest time recorded in CU history.

 

Dodson also took second in the 60-meter dash. He ran a time of 6.75 in the finals. Dodson was fourth in the prelims (6.86). He was the top collegiate racer in both events.

 

Senior Ryan Campbell also had a top-three finish at the meet. He was third in the 60, finishing in 6.78. Campbell was eighth in the 200 (21.90).

 

The men's 4x400-meter relay was the runner-up at the meet. Adrian Gomez teamed up with Campbell, Matt McCarthan and Quinton Dodson. They finished in 3:23.05 and were three seconds ahead of third-place Western State.

 

The CU women went 2-3-5 in the 400-meter run. Veronica Maul led the way with a second-place finish as she recorded a mark of 57.98. Dyamond Seay crossed the finish just after Maul (58.85) and took third. Joi Windham was fifth overall, crossing the line at 58.49.

 

Maul, Windham and Seay were joined by Krista Kiper for the 4x400-meter relay. The relay took third overall and finished in 3:54.43.

 

The Buffs will be back in action Friday and Saturday, Feb. 13-14 at the Air Force Invitational while some will travel to the Husky Invite on Feb. 14.
