Buffs Have Strong Showing at CSM Twilight Open

Stand out athletes for CU included senior Trey Mullen, who launched the weight 56 feet, 11.25 inches to place first and record a new personal record in the process. Four additional Colorado athletes placed in the top seven for the men's weight throw, including freshman Alex Kizirian, who finished second with a throw reaching 54-09.50. This mark blew out his previous person record of 50-06.25, making it the fourth best throw of the season by a Buff.
Sophomore Laurisa Canini and junior Katie Dreher tied for first in the women's high jump. A three-way tie at 5-7, these women both recorded new PR's and hold the Buffs' season high for the event. Dreher broke yet another personal record in the long jump, with a mark of 18-01.25, good for fifth place.
The men had a strong finish in the shot put with sophomore Michael Field recording a throw of 48-09.25, good for third place and PR. Sophomore Dane Chobanian finished fifth for the Buffs after a mark of 45-10.50.
Two Colorado women placed top five in the women's weight throw including, sophomore Emily Hunsucker in third, and senior Max Van Dyke in fifth, throwing 49-11.75 and 49-04.25, respectively.
Look for the Buffaloes to be back in action Friday, February 25 at the Big 12 Indoor Championships in Lincoln. Nebraska.
