Manzi Tenorio/Schleich Fall In Doubles Finals

Schleich, who played a pair of three-set marathons where she lost the opening set only to rally and win each of those matches in the final set on Saturday, was trailing 4-1 in the first set to Saari-Bystrom. Schleich also played a doubles final with sophomore teammate Carla Manzi Tenorio early Sunday morning. The CU tandem lost 8-5 to Arkansas Kate Lukomskaya and Claudine Paulson in the Silver Doubles Final.
Manzi Tenorio's loss on Sunday was her first in eight doubles matches during the fall season.
"Overall it was a great tournament with a lot of great showings," said CU head coach Nicole Kenneally. "I think our players continued to progress and we're seeing improvement with everyone. Obviously, there will be ups and downs, but overall we're better and we know better information that when we did on Thursday.
"We now have two weeks off before we head to the ITA Regional in Las Vegas, so I'm excited. We're going to take a couple days off, then we'll get back to work."
