FORT COLLINS, Colo. – The busy week for the University of Colorado track and field team continued as many athletes competed on Saturday at the Fum McGraw Quadrangular at Colorado State.

A pair of Buffs, Mark Jones and Lucy May, recorded first place finishes in their respective events. Jones won the high jump after clearing 6-9.75, while May recorded a personal record of 4:37.60 to win the 1,500-meter run.

CU also took home several runner-up finishes. Adam Peterman was second in the men's 1,500, clocking in at 4:01.03, while Joe Holvey was fifth in 4:07.97. Luke Sheesley, who is redshirting this season for the Buffs, won the race in 3:59.62.

The majority of CU's competitors were in the field events. Mariah Walker placed second in the women's shot put, recording a throw of 46-1.25 and Andrew Ghizzone was the runner-up in the pole vault after clearing 14-11.50. Ghizzone was also fourth in the javelin (143-6) behind teammate Matt Walker who placed third with a throw of 151-4.

Alex Kizirian had a good meet with three top six finishes. He was third in the hammer throw (197-8), fifth in the shot put (54-2.75) and sixth in the discus. (157-10). Teammate Brady Rutt had a pair of fourth place performances in the discus (162-10) and the hammer throw (189-1).

Michael Egotanda also had a pair of fourth place finishes in his events. He jumped 22-5 in the long jump and recorded a mark of 46-9 in the triple jump.

The Buffs also wrapped up action at Texas Relays on Saturday. The women's 4x400-meter relay team (Lindsy Mattson, Ana Holland, Tashay Brown and Eileen Gehring) placed seventh overall in 3:43.03 in the finals.

Colorado has a pair of meets on the schedule for next week, Air Force Relays (April 4) and the Stanford Invitational (April 3-4).
