Ormeño Ruiz Ranked No. 77 In Latest National Rankings

TEMPE, Ariz. - Colorado senior Nuria Ormeño Ruiz is ranked No. 77 in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association national rankings. She is just shy of the highest ranking of her career, which was No. 74 last season. She entered this season ranked No. 110 in the preseason fall rankings.
Ormeño Ruiz is one of the most decorated players in CU history heading into her final semester in Boulder. She ranked 18th in school history in singles wins (69) and 13th with a .639 winning percentage. During the fall season, she posted an 8-3 record in singles play, including wins over opponents ranked No. 33, No. 59 and No. 74. Two of the three opponents she lost to during the fall are now ranked in the top 10. She was 5-1 in doubles matches as well.
Colorado opens the spring season next weekend at the Indiana Invitational and opens dual-match play at home against Northern Colorado on Saturday, Jan. 21.
