Buffs Announce 2017 Cross Country Schedule

BOULDER — Summer officially started on Wednesday, but it won't be long until the Colorado cross country teams are back competing this fall, kicking off the 2017 campaign on Sept. 1 at the Colorado State Ram Invitational in Fort Collins, Colo.
The Buffs announced their schedule on Wednesday and it looks very similar to past seasons. After Colorado races at CSU, the Buffs will have almost a full month to get prepared for their only home meet of the season, the Rocky Mountain Shootout, on Sept. 30.
Colorado will then head to Louisville, Ky. for the NCAA Pre-National Invitational on Oct. 14. Postseason action will begin on Oct. 27 as the Buffs will prepare to defend their Pac-12 team titles. Oregon will serve as the host this year and that meet will be broadcast tape-delayed on Pac-12 Network.
NCAA Mountain Regionals will be in Logan, Utah on Nov. 10. The season will culminate on Nov. 18 at the NCAA Championships in Louisville, Ky.
The Buffs return a solid core of harriers this fall. The women's team, which finished third at NCAAs after winning their second straight Pac-12 team title, return four All-American (Kaitlyn Benner, Sage Hurta, Dani Jones and Mackenzie Caldwell), while the men, who were sixth at NCAAs after winning their sixth consecutive Pac-12 team championship, have a pair of All-Americans (John Dressel and Joe Klecker) returning.
