Buffs Start 2021 Against Roadrunners

BOULDER – The University of Colorado women's tennis team will return to action following the cancelation of the 2020 spring season this Sunday at home against NCAA Division II opponent MSU-Denver at 10 a.m.
Colorado will have one of the strongest teams under third-year head coach Danielle Steinberg in 2021. The Buffs return three of their top four players from last year in Sara Nayar, Antonia Balzert and Sophia Derivan. Colorado also added graduate student and former All-Big East performer Fleur Eggink. This will be the first team under Steinberg with as many upperclassmen as lower, as junior Megan Forster and Ky Ecton return to the lineup with strong doubles experience.
Also for Colorado, Maria Campos had a strong freshman campaign that was cut short, along with Ellie Puzak who continues to improve for CU. Colorado will likely play out all six singles matches and all three doubles to begin the early season doubles pairing and singles position experimentation. Colorado will be without junior Tallulah Farrow, who has opted out of the season due to COVID concerns but will rejoin in the fall.
Colorado will hope to get out to a quick start as they head to Ames, Iowa next weekend to take on North Dakota and Iowa State.
