
Four Buffs Earn Preseason All-Conference Honors

Sherrod, Miller, Formann and Vonleh represent CU on preseason list
SAN FRANCISCO – Colorado's Jaylyn Sherrod, Quay Miller, Frida Formann and Aaronette Vonleh each earned Preseason All-Conference honors the Pac-12 Conference announced ahead of Tuesday's annual media day.
Sherrod and Miller each landed on the All-Conference team, while Formann and Vonleh earned honorable mentions. 27Â media members who cover the league made the selections. 15 players made All-Conference, while 11 players received three or more votes to be honorable mention.
"I am excited that several of our players were selected for Preseason All-Conference awards," head coach JR Payne expressed. "I see the work they put in during the offseason and the way they attack various areas that need to develop. I know they're prepared to have a great season both individually and collectively as a team. To be considered elite in such a great conference like the Pac-12 is very special."
Sherrod, a graduate student from Birmingham, Ala., started all 33 games for the Buffs last season. She was an All-Pac-12 and All-Defensive selection in 2023, leading the conference in both assists (165) and steals (78). Sherrod was one of five DI players that averaged 10.0 points, 5.0 assists and 2.0 steals last season. She scored in double figures in 21 games and had five or more assists 20 times. Sherrod starts this season ranked 29th in program history with 1,047 career points and is fourth in assists per game (4.5) and fifth in total assists (473).
Miller, a graduate student from Renton, Wash., was an All-Conference selection last season. She was fifth in the Pac-12 in both rebounds per game (8.8) and total rebounds (164). Miller snagged a career-high 19 rebounds last season at Oregon State, tying the fourth most in a game in program history. Last season, she was a Lisa Leslie Midseason Top 10 watch candidate, totaling 444 points and surpassing 1,000 career points - a majority (774) coming as a Buff. Miller scored 10 points or more in 27 games last season and had 10 double-doubles, including a 12-point, 14-rebound performance against Iowa in the Sweet 16.
Formann, a senior from Bagsværd, Denmark, represented Colorado on the NCAA Tournament All-Region team for the Seattle 4 bracket and was honorable mention All-Pac-12. She became just the third Buff to hit at least five 3-pointers in an NCAA Tournament game, joining Kate Fagan and Shelley Sheetz. Formann averaged 1.56 points per game and shot 41.7% (15-36) from 3 in five postseason games (two Pac-12 Tournament, three NCAA). She ranked fourth last season in the conference with a 39.3 3FG% and led the team with 75 3FGM (3rd Pac-12). Formann begins the season with 178 career 3FGM, ranking 9th all-time at CU.
Vonleh, a junior from Bend, Ore., was a Co-Pac-12 Most Improved Player of the Year and an All-Pac-12 honorable mention in 2023. She started 33 games and played in all 34 last season. Vonleh finished the year seventh in the Pac-12 with 185 field goals and totaled 25 games of 10 or more points, including three 20-plus-point performances. Vonleh led CU in scoring five times in her first season as Buff and was second in the Pac-12 with a 58.5 field goal %.Â
Both Miller and Formann will join Payne in Las Vegas for media day festivities on Tuesday.
