Buffs Close Weekend With Top-10 Performances

Boulder and Spokane, Wash. - The Colorado track and field program closed out a busy weekend here Saturday with numerous top-10 marks at the Colorado Invitational, while six athletes represented the Buffs at the Riverfront Invitational.Â

Abbey Glynn highlighted the day at home with a victory in the women's 400 meter, moving to second all-time in CU history with a time of 52.41. Emma Pollak followed, placing second with a new PR of 53.30. Freshman Joy Moorer also competed in the event, placing fifth with a debut time of 56.19.Â

In the men's 400, Ian Gilmore placed second with a time of 47.32 for another top-10 mark, putting him second all-time in CU history. Cole Romig placed fourth, clocking a new PR of 48.84, while Danny Tragarz placed fifth in 48.91.Â

Ella Baran claimed another victory for the Buffs in the women's 800 meter, running a time of 2:10.29 to put her eighth all-time in CU history. Elliot Pribramsky placed third to set a new PR of 2:13.33, while Whitney Valenti ran her debut 800 for the Buffs in a time of 2:14.14.Â

Ben Greene and Ryan Lindrud earned two more top-10 marks in the men's 800. Greene clocked 1:50.46 to place second and put him sixth all-time in CU history, while Lindrud now sits at ninth all-time with his time of 1:51.20 and fourth place finish. Reese Kilbarger-Stumpf also competed in the event, placing fifth with a debut time of 1:52.29.Â

In the women's 3000 meter, Katie Doucette put down another win for Colorado with a time of 9:42.35. On the men's side, Jake Derouin placed second, clocking a new PR of 8:15.64.Â

Johnny Homsy and Dylan Edwards both earned spots in the men's 60 meter final. Homsy placed fifth with a new PR of 6.80m, while Dylan Edwards competed in his first collegiate meet, placing seventh in 6.96.Â

The men's 4x400 meter relay consisting of Cole Romig, Danny Tragarz, Garrett Nelson, and Nick Nuhfer closed out the day with another victory with a time of 3:14.44.Â

Over in Spokane at the Riverfront Invitational, Jada Green placed fourth in the 60 meter hurdle finals with her time of 8.48.Â

In the women's shot put, Lauren Whyrick marked 13.55m for an eighth place finish, while Amanda Opp threw a new PR of 12.83m to place eleventh.Â

The Buffaloes will head into a packed weekend between three meets, including the David Hemery Valentine Invitational, the Jarvis Scott Open, and the Husky Classic starting Friday, February 9.
