Buffs Ready to Celebrate Senior Day at Last Chance

BOULDER – The Colorado track and field team returns home Friday, Feb. 20, to host the Colorado Last Chance at the CU Indoor Practice Facility. The program will honor 18 seniors during its XC/TF Senior Day recognition at 11 a.m., with competition set to begin at 12 p.m. with the Invite Distance Medley Relay.

The Men's Invite Distance Medley Relay will headline Friday's action as the Buffs take on top squads from BYU, NAU, and New Mexico in a fast-paced showdown, with all four teams aiming to post NCAA Division I Indoor Championship qualifying marks.
Colorado's A DMR features Justine Kipkoech (1200), Danny Tragarz (400), Drew Costelow (800), and Isaiah Givens (1600).
"We are very excited to host some of the nation's best teams in the distance medley relay this weekend. It's going to be a great environment to run fast here in Colorado," said Sean Carlson, Director of Cross Country and Track & Field.

SENIOR WOMEN SENIOR MEN
LAST TIME OUT: Five Buffs competed at the Boston University David Hemery Valentine Invitational on Friday and Saturday. Avery Pearson led the way, clocking a PR of 2:03.21 in the 800 meters to move to No. 2 all-time in program history. Antonio Votour competed in the 60-meter hurdles and advanced to the final to run 8.40, while Lucas Williams recorded a weight throw mark of 19.38m, just under three inches shy of his PR — a mark that ranks No. 3 in CU history. Jake Liebert raced a competitive 5k field in 13:34.18, finishing just over a second off his PR, which ranks No. 2 all-time at Colorado.
UP NEXT: The Buffs travel to Lubbock, Texas, to compete at the Big 12 Indoor Championships on Friday, Feb. 27, and Saturday, Feb. 28, hosted by Texas Tech.
