Colorado Sweeps Giant Slalom Races at Utah Invitational

February 22, 2026 | Skiing

PARK CITY, Utah — Louison Accambray and Justin Bigatel won GS titles as the Colorado Buffaloes ski team extended its lead after the third day of the Utah Invitational Sunday at Utah Olympic Park.

Accambray won the women's race and Bigatel captured the men's title, leading Colorado to 187 total points on the day. The Buffs scored 84 in the women's race and Feb Allasina and Filip Wahlqvist both placed in the top five of the men's race, helping CU score 103 points, finishing ahead of Utah and Denver in both races.

Through six of eight events in the meet, Colorado extended its overall lead to 52 points with 556, ahead of Utah's 504. Denver moved into third with 405 points. The Buffs doubled their 26-point edge coming out of the Nordic portion of the meet last month.

Colorado has now scored between 181 and 188 points on each of the three scoring days of the meet.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The women opened the day, and Accambray set the tone immediately. Second out of the gate, she posted a 57.78 on the first run that held as the fastest time. She followed with the seventh-fastest second run to secure the victory by more than a half second.

Cathinka Lunder, 13th to start, sat 10th after the first run before producing the fifth-fastest second run to move into a tie for sixth. Alexa Brownlie started 14th and slipped to 22nd after the opening run, then responded with the second-fastest second run in the field to climb back to 14th. Hannah Soria moved from 29th at the start to 23rd after the first run and improved one more spot to 22nd with a top-10 second run. Paige DeHart did not finish her first run.

In a tightly contested women's race where the top five finishers represented five different teams, Colorado edged Utah 84-80 and Denver 84-76 in team scoring.

The men followed with another strong showing. Bigatel, also second out of the gate, posted the fastest first run and later secured the win with the sixth-fastest second run.

Feb Allasina, third to start, held third place through both runs to claim the podium finish. Filip Wahlqvist started sixth, was seventh after the first run, and moved up two spots in the second run to finish fifth.

Christoffer Oestroem climbed from 18th after the first run into a tie for ninth with the seventh-fastest second run. Stanley Buzek moved from 19th after the first run to finish 16th. Colorado placed five skiers inside the top 16 and defeated Utah 103-81 and Denver 103-76.
