Colorado will be represented by three individuals and a relay team at the national meet.
The first event for the Buffs comes at 4:20 p.m. MT with the men's mile preliminary round, featuring Isaiah Givens and Justine Kipkoech. Kipkoech will compete in the first heat, while Givens will race in the second.
Givens enters the meet as the top seed in the event after running a nation-leading time of 3:51.73 at the Potts Invitational in January. He is also the top returning finisher in the field after placing fifth at last year's NCAA Indoor Championships in a time of 3:54.84. Kipkoech qualified for the national meet with a season-best time of 3:53.05 and finished the regular season ranked No. 12 nationally.
Avery Pearson will follow in the women's 800-meter preliminary at 5:25 p.m. MT. Pearson will race in the second heat against a competitive field that includes top seed Gladys Chepngetich of Clemson, who enters the meet with a season-best time of 1:58.81. Pearson qualified for the championship after running a program-record 1:59.98Â at the Colorado Last Chance meet and recently captured the Big 12 title in the 600 yards.
The evening concludes for the Buffs with the men's distance medley relay at 7:30 p.m. MT. The quartet of Kipkoech, Danny Tragarz, Drew Costelow and Givens earned their spot at nationals after running a school-record time of 9:19.00@ at the Colorado Last Chance meet. TJ Hansen and Kole Mathison are listed as alternates for the relay.
The top 10 finishers in the men's mile preliminaries will advance to Saturday's final, with the top four finishers from each heat automatically qualifying along with the next two fastest times. In the women's 800-meter preliminaries, the top three finishers from each heat plus the next two fastest times will advance to the final, making up eight finalists. The distance medley relay will be contested as a final on Friday night as the NCAA crowns its 2026 indoor national champions.
