Warfield-Ruffatto Places First At Tom Benich

GREELEY, Colo. ? Hannah Warfield-Ruffatto recorded a throw of 157-07 in the women's javelin throw at the Tom Benich Invite, held in
Kevin Waldron placed second in the javelin throw with a toss of 166-10. In the discus throw, Colorado had a top finisher of sixth in both the men and women's side of the competition as Ryan Willis (159-05) and Kaity Kark (139-03) led the Buffs in the event. Kark also finished second in the women's shot put with a throw of 42-01.25. Chynna McCall finished right behind Kark with a throw of 41-03.25, good for third in the event. Willis also led CU in the men's shot put, placing fourth with a throw of 52-01.75.
Hilary McClendon finished the women's 3000-meter steeplechase with a time of 11:41.52, taking third place. Dani Rodriguez led the CU women in the 1500-meter run, finishing third with a time of 4:45.87. Matt Herzl led the CU men in the same event, finishing 13th with a time of 4:10.00.
Rodriguez also took 13th in the women's 400 meter dash with a time of 1:05.01. Chris Abuan led the men in the 400; finishing second with a time of 49:13.17
Ryan Campbell continued to have success in the 100 meter this year racing to a time of 10.33, good for second place in the event.
At the Stanford Invite, Payton Batliner and Erin Marston raced in the 10k on Friday night. Batliner recorded a provisional qualifying mark of 29:00.33 and placed eighth overall. The mark bettered his personal best by more than 30 seconds (29:37.52) set in 2005. Marston placed 18th overall, recording a time of 35:58.54 and a personal best.
