Belassi and Jendrian Advance

SAN DIEGO, Calif. ? University of Colorado senior Franziska Jendrian and junior Camila Belassi each won their lone singles match on Saturday advancing to the Singles A Consolation Final at the second day of the San Diego State University Fall Classic.
After dropping their Friday opening round match, both Jendrian and Belassi rallied in the consolation draw with wins setting up their Saturday singles round. Jendrian, who picked up her 73rd career win with a default victory over Julia Trunk of San Diego State, defeated Maja Sujica of San Diego, 7-5, 4-6, 1-0(4) on Saturday for her 74th career victory, moving into a 10th place tie on CU's all-time singles list.
Jendrian has tied May 2008 graduates Veera Nurmi and Gleisy Torres Torres, who ended their four-year careers with identical 74-45 singles records. Jendrian also won her team-best 14th singles triumph of the fall.
Belassi defeated SDSU's Esther Cadua on Friday afternoon, 6-4, 7-5, also defeated a University of San Diego player, Marite Raygada, 7-5, 6-3, Saturday afternoon. Belassi has won nine of 13 singles matches during the fall.
Jendrian and Belassi will play against each other for the first time in their careers Sunday morning.
The three-day SDSU Invite event runs through Sunday, is the last of the fall campaign featuring the host Aztecs, Colorado, Oklahoma, San Diego, UC Irvine and Washington.
