Buffs Take Top Three In Javelin At Rob Upton

FORT COLLINS, Colo. ? The University of Colorado took the top three spots for the second straight week in the men's javelin throw on Saturday at the Rob Upton Invitational.
Brandin Williams led the way with a final mark of 201 feet, 4 inches and just missed the regional qualifying mark of 202-01 by nine inches. The throw was the eighth best ever in CU history. Kevin Waldron placed second with a throw of 172-11 and Mac Crawford was third with a toss of 160-05.
James Nixon recorded a collegiate personal record in the pole vault and took first place after clearing 15-01 in the pole vault. Parker Fales also placed first in the long jump. His best jump of the afternoon was 20-11.75.
On the track, Joi Windham also took top honors for the Buffs in the 400-meter hurdles. She finished the race with a time of 1:03.80.
CU assistant coaches Lindsey and Casey Malone also competed at the meet and each took top honors in their respective events. Lindsey won the high jump with a mark of 5-08.75 while Casey won the discus throw with a toss of 202-11.
