Manzi Tenorio Reaches Singles Final

CU is one of nine teams participating in the three-day invitational featuring the host Jayhawks, along with Armstrong Atlantic, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas State, Oklahoma, UMKC and Wichita State.
Manzi Tenorio outlasted Valerie Brockman of Wichita State, 6-7, 7-6, 1-0 (10-5) in the Blue Singles bracket. Manzi Tenorio has now won four of her last five matches. She will play Indiana's Sophie Garre in Sunday's final.
Playing in Sunday's consolation third place matches will be Michala Hedelund Jensen and Abbie Probert. Both fell in Saturday's play in straight sets.
In doubles play, the Buff doubles teams each went 1-1 on the day. In Round 3, Probert and Hedelund Jensen defeated Oklahoma's Brittany Parks/Peta Maree Lancaster, 8-1, then fell to the Sooners duo of Tara Eckel and Mia Lancaster, 9-7 in the Blue Group.
In the Red Group, Manzi Tenorio and Kristina Schleich edged Indiana's Myriam Sopel/Charlotte Martin, 8-5, however lost to Henry/Krtickova from Armstrong Atlantic, 8-3.
After two days, Hedelund Jensen and Probert are 2-2 over the two days, while Schleich/Manzi Tenorio have won three of four doubles matches.
