Record 15 Skiers Earn All-RMISA Honors

February 28, 2024 | Skiing

DENVER – A record 15 members of the Colorado Buffaloes ski team were named to the various All-RMISA teams, the Rocky Mountain Intercollegiate Ski Association announced Wednesday, the most in program history.

The previous high for CU skiers on the league team was 13 in both 1995 and 2012.  The 2024 season will be the first in program history in which all Buffs selected for the NCAA Championships are All-RMISA performers. This is also the first time more than 10 skiers were named All-RMISA since the 2018 season.

Five of the 15 were named first-team All-RMISA, Magnus Boee, Anna-Maria Dietze, Will Koch, Magdalena Luczak and Filip Wahlqvist.  Second team members are Hanna Abrahamsson, Denise Dingsleder, Johannes Flaaten, Hugo Hinckfuss, Weronika Kaleta, Ryder Sarchett and Julia Toiviainen.  Three additional members, Louis Fausa, Caroline Jones and Etienne Mazellier were named honorable mention.

Boee and Dietze are also the first five-time selections to the All-RMISA teams, as both are in their fifth seasons and began with CU in the 2020 season, when the NCAA did not count a season of eligibility for student-athletes.   Boee is also just the sixth skier in CU history named to the first-team in four different seasons.

The teams are selected based on skiers overall NCAA seed positions in the RMISA, with the first five named first-team and the second five named second-team.  Honorable mention selections are skiers in the top 10 of the individual discipline NCAA seeding lists not already on the first or second team.

The Buffs NCAA team was selected Tuesday and the 12 Buffs that will represent CU at the NCAA Championships are Abrahamsson, Boee, Dietze, Dingsleder, Flaaten, Kaleta, Koch, Luczak, Mazellier, Sarchett, Toiviainen and Wahlqvist.

CU hosts the NCAA Championships March 6-9 in Steamboat Springs.
