Colorado Signs Lauren Harris to 2026-27 Roster

BOULDER – The Colorado women's basketball team has signed incoming freshman guard Lauren Harris (Yuba City, Calif./Faith Christian HS) to the 2026-27 roster, head coach JR Payne announced Tuesday, May 26.
 
A 5-11 sharpshooter and guard from Yuba City, Calif., Harris attended Faith Christian High School. The Sac-Joaquin Section Player of the Year (2026) finishes her high school career with a whopping 742 three-pointers made – currently holding the California and national record for career three-pointers made. She also holds the single-season three-point record with 242.
 
"We're thrilled to welcome Lauren Harris to our program," head coach JR Payne stated. "Lauren is a proven winner and fierce competitor who brings tremendous experience and confidence to the floor. She can really shoot the basketball, and her toughness, work ethic, and competitive spirit will make her a great addition to our team and culture."
 
She earned All-Conference First Team accolades in all four years playing varsity in high school, as well as being named to multiple All-County, All-Region, All-State Honorable Mention, and All-Area First Teams. A recent 2026 CIF State Division IV Champion with Faith Christian, Harris also helped lead her team to secure a four-peat as Sacramento Metropolitan Athletic League (SMAL) Conference Championships (2023, 2024, 2025, 2026). Harris and her high school team went on to win CIF Sac-Joaquin Section Champs in 2023, 2025, and at the end of this season (2026), and they secured the runner-up spot in 2024.
 
Over 35 games as a senior, she averaged 31.1 points, 13.7 rebounds, 5.8 assists, 2.3 steals, and 1.3 blocks per game. Not only did she total over 1,000 points her senior season, but she also finished her high school career with 3,578 points. She also totaled 1,609 rebounds, 749 assists, 263 steals, and 151 blocks during her 126 games as a high schooler.
 
Harris was coached by her father, Geoff Harris, who also played basketball at Faith Christian (1994-98).
 
Harris is one of only two incoming freshmen for the 2026-27 season, the other being Cail Jahnke (Minneapolis, Minn./St Michael-Albertville HS), who was announced on signing day back in November 2025.
 
Following the 2025-26 season, the Buffs announced the signings of five incoming transfers, including Anete Adler, Aniya' Foy, Brooke Walker, Mecailin Marshall, and Kira Reynolds. Amidst the transfer portal season, Colorado has also announced seven returning Buffs, including Zyanna Walker, Jade Crook, Kennedy Sanders, Maeve McErlane, Sophie Zadel, Claire O'Connor, and Logyn Greer.

Colorado women's basketball wrapped up the 2025-26 season with its 17th NCAA Tournament appearance all-time, falling 66-57 in the First Round to seven-seed Illinois (Mar. 21). CU finished sixth in the Big 12 conference with an 11-7 record, going 22-12 overall and 14-3 at home. The Buffs have won over 20 games in each of the last five seasons and have appeared in the NCAA Tournament in four of the last five years.
