Buffs Compete at Michael Johnson; Ram Open

Dodson started the day by winning the preliminaries of the 100-meter dash. He crossed the finish in 10.41 seconds, which was a regional qualifying mark. Unfortunately Dodson was charged with a false start in the finals.
Dodson also earned a regional mark of 20.85 in the 200-meter invitational. The time is his fastest mark of the season. Ryan Campbell was also invited to compete in the 200 and took fourth (21.64).
Hugh Charles also had a good showing in the 100-meter dash. Charles was seventh in the prelims, clocking a time of 10.69. In the finals, he placed fifth, racing to a time of 10.81.
The men's 4x100-meter relay earned its second straight regional mark of the season. The team, which was made up of Charles, Campbell, Nate Terry and Dodson, raced to a 40.14 finish, its best finish of the season. CU finished second overall behind Baylor's mark of 39.77.

James Begley recorded a toss of 54 feet and 2.75 inches in the shot put. He also took second in the hammer throw with a mark of 176-02. Chynna McCall took fifth in the women's shot put as she recorded a toss of 42-07.50. Alyssa Higby also notched a top-five placing as she three the javelin 100-02.
Shane Micheel earned a personal best in the 100-meter run. He crossed the finish in 11.07 and took fifth overall. Chelsea Haverty was the top CU female in the 400-meter run. She placed third and clocked a mark of 59.04.
The men's javelin throwers had another great outing for CU. Brandin Williams earned his fourth first-place finish of the season by recording a mark of 189-04. Kevin Waldron placed third, his best finish of the season, with a toss of 178-03.
