Buff Throwers Have Strong Showing at the Jack Christiansen Invite

Kevin Fasing took home top honors in the men's javelin throw with a throw of 194-08. The throw was over 23 feet further then the second place throw of 171-00 by Chase Dukes, who also finished eighth in the hammer throw, with a throw of 170-06. Zach Hazen led the Buffs in the men's hammer and discus throws, as he finished second in the hammer with a throw of 192-09 and fifth in the discuss with a throw of 157-00.
Abe Friesen led the way for the Buffs in both the 200m and 400m races, finishing fifth in the 200m with a time of 22.09; in the 400m Friesen finished fourth with a time of 48.76.
The CU women were led by Hannah Warfield-Ruffatto's first place finish in the javelin throw, her throw of 157-03 was 15-feet further then the second place throw. Amberly Casey had a strong showing as she placed second in the women's triple jump with a jump of 39-01.00 and fourth in the women's long jump with a jump of 19-00.75. Dani Rodriguez led the distance runners with a pair of top-five finishes, as her time of 2:20.45 in the 800m and 4:45.13 in the 1500m run were both good for third place.
Chelsea Haverty recorded a time of 25.42 in the 200m which was good for fifth place. Kelly Blayne took home a pair of top-ten finishes in the women's hurdles competitions as she placed seventh in the 100m hurdles with a time of 14.46 and fifth in the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:04.50. Kaity Kark recorded a throw of 42-04.75 in the women's shot put which gave her a fifth place finish, and followed that up with an eighth place finish in the discus with a throw of 138-10. Chynna McCall finished seventh in the discuss with a throw of 40-01.25.
