Buffs have Successful Showing at Jack Christiansen Invite

FORT COLLINS, Colo. - The University of Colorado track team had a strong showing and was led by senior Jeremy Dodson and his three first place finishes Saturday at the Jack Christiansen Invitational.
Dodson and his younger brother sophomore Quinton Dodson were in unison today having each captured their personal record in the 100-meter dash and season best mark in the 200-meter dash. Jeremy Dodson took top honors in both events, clocking it at 10.15 and 20.92 seconds; respectively. Not far behind came brother Quinton, placing third in both events with times of 10.52 and 21.51.
Two more personal records were achieved in men's track events today at the Jack Christiansen Invite. Competing in the 400-meter hurdles, Colorado freshman, Jordan Aguilar finished second--setting his new personal record at 55.22 seconds. Teammate Javen Correia finished fourth in 110-meter hurdles with a new personal record of 15.15 seconds.
Along with Jeremy Dodson's two individual wins, he was also a part of CU's winning relay team in the 4x100, made up of Quinton Dodson, Kyle MacIntosh, and A.J. Whitaker.
Colorado sophomore Jerome Perkins took the top spot in the men's 5000-meter dash, this being his first time running in the event.
The Colorado Women's team had an impressive showing at today's meet as well, the women finished with two first place finishers.
Joi Windham was a standout in the women's 400-meter hurdles, finishing first with time of 1:03.18, two seconds ahead of the nearest competitor. Kristin Johansen also stepped up to the plate today with another first place finish in the 5000-meters dash, while setting a new personal record.
Junior Megan Burrell joined Kristin Johansen in her feat of setting a new PR, with a time of 4:52.31 in the 1500 meter dash.
Colorado had multiple runner-up finishes in today's field events; including, Buff's senior, Kaity Kark, in both the women's shot put and discus throw as well as, junior, Kevin Fasing in the men's javelin throw.
Kaity Kark performed well enough to earn her season best mark in the discus throw, recording a throw of 149-09 feet.
Look for the Buffaloes to be back in action Saturday, May 1 at the Payton Jordan Cardinal Invitational, in Palo Alto, California.
